Video Tower
An interactive sculpture built from Video Libraries.
This project explores overstimulation through a towering structure with sources drawn from the local video archives and the NASA Image and Video Library. The tower functions as a dense archive of visual content, continuously shifting through the material to evoke the endless stream of media that surrounds us. The user can influence the system by controlling what content appears on the tower and how the tower moves, turning it into a reflection of their own choices, interests, and habits.
The user's body still shapes the experience through tracking: head movement shifts the tower, while hand movement changes how close the archive feels. The body becomes a quiet input inside the system, suggesting that even when we feel agency over the media we consume, we are still bound within a larger loop of visual stimulation.
